Qatar Musing.

So, we recently attended a rather lovely fashion affair in the city of Doha, as hosted by Haute Muse Magazine...the soon to be launched publication founded by Noora & Fatma Al Thani. A Qatar based initiative, the glossy magazine comes as a breath of freshly scented air. A title for the region's women, covering the region's women, by the region's women.

In association with Matches Fashion, the shindig was nicely flavoured with a selection of garments hand picked to suit a general preference for what we like to call 'regally influenced comfort'. Relaxed fittings, complex textures, and lots of colour.

"Correct shoes..."

Attendance was impressive, with New York's Olivia Palermo flying in for the occasion, influential bloggers from across the Gulf, high society so and so's and leading regional fashion designers, including DAS' Hind Beljafla and Tamara Al Gabbani.

A personal weakness for handbags was also met, with abundance:

bougi's best dressed quite obviously had to go to this emerald embezzled piece of amazing.

With Olivia in town, it was only right for the lovely hosts to show her a taste of Arabian living, and so, the following day, Noora and Fatma hosted us all to a private dinner at the family home (darlings, thank you). Traditional food, music, dance and henna, in tow. Olivia clearly embraced the experience, additionally and flamboyantly boasting her own abaya. All in all, a superb introduction to Qatar's emerging fashion scene, graciously represented by the ladies of Haute Muse. A toast of congratulations, to your guaranteed success.
