THIS lady, this force of female Hollywood firebomb, is in Dubai, THIS coming Monday.
She is, without question, the coolest of Hollywood superstars.
And...well, to the UAE, she makes her way.
The music.
Michelle Rodriguez arrives in Dubai on Tuesday 3 April for a series of promotional commitments in run up to her forthcoming Fast & Furious movie, as well as other *very* exciting projects looming in the 2012 horizon. You'll soon find out.
She's also making a very special Middle East DJing debut, on 3 April , at Cirque Du Soir. Oh...you didn't know she DJ'd? In St. Tropez, Cannes, all over the best of Hollywood, Sardinia...amazingly? You're late. Very, very late.
Then, the Dominican Republic's hottest tamale moves on to Abu Dhabi, for an exclusive performance at Emirates Palace's Etoiles on Thursday 5 April. Indeed, another night to undoubtedly remember. Wait, we cannot.
International Pizzaz. Local Glory.
As well as the phenomenal acting, writing, a passion for music, and displaying her skills on the ones and twos, Michelle will also take a dive into the UAE's cultural pool of creativity. "I can't wait to see what Dubai and Abu Dhabi have to offer on every level of creative prowess. I've heard so much and look forward to trying and celebrating all the regional talent...I'm also seeing Ferrari world, which for obvious reasons I'm pretty psyched about".
The woman.
So. Prepare yourselves thy Emirates. For 4 days of warrior princess like memories, music, fashion, and unforgettable moments in what it means to be the all encompassing feminine force.
"I really want to thank bougi, the Fairmont hotel, Emirates Palace, Etoiles, Cirque Du Soir, all the stylists and designers, press, my good friends in the region and everyone else who's come together to make this Middle East visit the very special one it's about to be...see you soon!" - Michelle Rodriguez
Michelle Rodriguez will visit Dubai and Abu Dhabi from 3 - 7 April 2012. For more information/interview requests/sample delivery: info@rozanahmed.com

Moving forward, with the past.
On Saturday 12th March 2011, selected guests gathered for an exclusive ladies luncheon celebrating Atelier Mayer's arrival in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Out with the new, and in...with the old.
In association with www.theoverdressed.com, the stunning event was set in open atrium, where "pop up" vintage corners were created for Chanel, Hermes, Pucci and Yves Saint Laurent amongst other vintage treasures like Pierre Cardin, Lanvin and Edwardian bijoux.
No. Words.
Pucci, baby.
Edwardian and art deco vintage jewellery.
Cocktails of pomegranate and limejuice cooled what was a steaming (and gorgeous) fashion crowd heatedly debating their next vintage acquisitions.
Gorgeous. And mine (wicked smile).
Lunch took place on a tropical garden terrace with palm tree vista, juxtaposed with Parisian jazz. At the beautiful table setting, organic dill rice, freshly grilled vegetables and traditional lamb stew was served.
Let's eat.
Finishing off with delicious rosewater, date macaroons by Alexandra M, homemade mini cheesecakes and crème brulee with pistachio Ishtha. Diet, officially, out the window.
Rafael Lopes for Atelier-Mayer vintage brocade and gold dress, strapless 1970s blue velvet Bouchette dress, mesh gold and black vintage dress and white 1970s Azzaro dress, amongst a selection of extraordinary vintage clothing.
The gold counter, a'la snake skin Louboutins
Onto the music and classical violinist, Theresa Finzi, granddaughter of famed British composer Raphael Finzi, enchanted the vintage inspired atmosphere with Haydn, Mozart and Vivaldi.
Meanwhile, global twitter feeds went mad with absentees trying to snatch up vintage treasures online. And who can blame them?
Happy shoppers didn’t leave empty handed either. Fabulous goodie bags included Camilla Morton’s newly launched book (hot off the press), a selection of exclusive The Overdressed postcards, a special ATELIER-MAYER lipgloss inspired by Klimt - containing 24 carat gold leaf - and a delicious array of typical Austrian Salzburger Mozart chocolates. Yum.

Behind bougi |
Following an F1 extravaganza, a super bash, on a super yacht, a London summer of back to back festivals and a birthday soiree many in the island will never forget, bougi founder, Rozan Ahmed, invited a select number of guests to what was [another] very special celebration.
First of all, there were massages (thanking you, The Mobile Spa).
Then, there was the ambience.
Then, there were quirks.
Then, there was opportunity to mingle with bougi's oh so wonderful network of invited guests.
Then...there was the music.
The UK's Jarren C, Kelly Rowland's official DJ, a favorite of Betty Jackson, Kate Moss, Jade Jagger and more, quite literally...rocked the affair.

''Once again, bougi V managed to personify what we have achieved online: creative excellence, social finesse, fun-loving sophistication and a passion for good music'' said Rozan Ahmed.
''We look forward to continuing our series of successful soirees and thank all those who continue to make them so memorable''.
